Timing your autumn photo session in southwest Ohio is all about catching that golden window of changing leaves. In Cincinnati, peak fall foliage usually hits between mid-to-late October and early November. If you want rich amber, deep red, and warm golden backdrops for your senior pictures, location is everything.
Pro-Tip for Booking: Fall dates are the single most competitive slots of the entire year. To make sure we hit peak color before the leaves drop, plan to get your session on the calendar as soon as possible.
Here are my absolute favorite spots in the Queen City to capture the peak fall colors:
French Park (Amberley Village): Famous for its sweeping open fields framed by heavy tree lines. You get a stunning mix of sun-drenched golden tall grass and vibrant, changing leaves along the woodland borders.
Ault Park (Hyde Park): Perfect for a blend of classic stone architecture and sprawling foliage. The tree-lined pathways surrounding the main pavilion turn rich shades of yellow and orange, creating an elegant backdrop.
Glenwood Gardens (Woodlawn): A whimsical, peaceful location with rolling prairies, stone bridges, and formal trails. The varied tree species here mean you get a stunning spectrum of red, gold, and green all in one walk.
Sharon Woods (Sharonville): If you want dramatic, deep-woods foliage and tranquil water reflections, this is the spot. The gorge trails and lake edges showcase some of the richest autumn colors in the city.
